Finished Combat 1 - Know Your Place
Continuing after defeating most of the Opfor team, the players duked it out with Lord Praya-Cannamos and Count Argo-Laurent. Several more devastating strikes later and many catastrophic misses from the Opfor, the PC’s won the duel by mech depletion rather then the King of the Hill point.
Proctored by Dean Hebriyah Doleros, Lord Praya-Cannamos and Count Argo-Laurent were forced to admit that the PC’s were in the right over the precursor to the duel.
Beat 3 - New Blood
Post duel, the PC’s are invited to the first years common room by Lord Aloysius Veredus Flyte, in which most of the years students have collected. The PC’s are greeted with praise for a good fight generally by the rest of the students.
Captain Hedros Nadeer was working out in the gym space in the common area when approached by the PC’s. Gage Blackstar gets a workout in, while the PC’s learn about Captain Hedros Nadeer’s background with the Baronic Unified Command (BUC) and achievements.
Primor Vivian & Valentine Reis & Rawan Azar are playing a card game at the table and the PC’s decide to join. During the games Gage Blackstar notice some scaring around Rawan Azar’s hands, similar to his own. Some PC’s do better then others, and a few are left in the last rounds of the game. On what should be a winning hand for Laria Cannamos, she notices only after revealing her hand that her cards appear to have changed, instead causing her to loose it all in one go. Rawan Azar calls out the twins for pulling their usual pranks, and after a brief spat with Gage Blackstar they run off.
Lady Kiriona & Principissa Elsa Regelinda Lavera Zoeva are out on the balcony of the common area. Lady Kiriona is using a drone as a moving combat target for her pistol, making quite the show of it. The PC’s approach and agree to give the shooting range a shot. Gage Blackstar and Zurvan Grereus both make an attempt at it, not scoring near Lady Kiriona’s best. Laria Cannamos hacked into the combat target and forces it to move off pattern, embarrassing Lady Kiriona. Later after everyone was gone/distracted, Sirlis Haught gives the target shooting a try and outright beats Lady Kiriona’s score, earning some admiration from her.
Every student received a datapad message notifying them of the next scheduled duel from Underbarron Iphianassa. The PC’s would have another trip to the dueling fields first thing tomorrow, this time fighting more of the classmates in this room!
While passing the TV screen, Sirlis Haught switches on a popular news channel which talks about the increasingly wild nanite patterns consuming Bo, and how they appear to be slowing down with no apparent explanation.
Lord Tomas Alfaroz is seen reading in the corner of the common area. Laria Cannamos briefly interacts with him about the book he is reading, learning that its a satirical poetry book which Lord Tomas Alfaroz is both fan-girl-ing over, but also has very shallow knowledge about.
Lord Aloysius Veredus Flyte and Kay meet the PC’s bickering over a set of blueprints. Lord Aloysius Veredus Flyte describes these blueprints as something he found while investigating nanites and had just appeared on his datapad the next night. Kay believes that these style of nanites are inherently a dangerous technology, appearing to verge on blackwash. Lord Aloysius Veredus Flyte attempts to refutes this claim intending to dive deeper into the blueprints looking for how these may be controlled.
Lord Aloysius Veredus Flyte attempts to assure the PC’s that his participation in Combat 1 - Know Your Place was strictly for political favor, and he personally had no vendetta against the PC’s.
Preparing for the next days duel, the PC’s chat with the crew members in the Stables, who work to repair their mechs rapidly.
Gage Blackstar attempts to find the gambling scene for the crew. Offering his brawn as needed, he strikes a deal with a crew member to bet on his own duels outcome. He also offers to help out the crew setting up the arena, which allows him to manipulate the fields a bit before the duel.
Laria Cannamos seeks out information about several of the Opfor mechs, by scanning them in the Stables.
Sirlis Haught stealth-ed aboard several of the Opfor mechs posing as repair crew, and sabotaged their leg actuators, hoping to reduce mobility.
Zurvan Grereus tweaked his mech and sought to improve his loadout for the combat.
